It's so blooming hot!

Hot weather and being heavily pregnant do not seem to mix - how is a girl supposed to keep cool and comfortable with an ever expanding belly, furnace burning inside her and baking sunshine to add to this delightful mix??? Any helpful suggestions welcome!

It's so hot n' sunny in Sidders

I will try anything to keep cool look at my huge belly!!

Nice pose, caught me trying to relax with dirty feet!

Fond Memories of Lisa

Lee has had the last 2 days off making it a long weekend together, Thursday was his birthday and yesterday was the Ward family day, we had a lovely afternoon all together with a BBQ and when we got home we cracked open the champagne and toasted fond memories of Lisa who sadly passed away one year ago.....

Baby Ward Breech Update...

Lee and I spent 3 hours at QM Hospital yesterday being poked and prodded, listening to her heartbeat, having bloods taken in the anti natal clinic, most of our time was waiting for the Obs consultant to come and see us to discuss our options about breech baby Ward...
So the options we have are as follows - try and get the baby turned or have a c-section in the 39th week...
The turning of the baby procedure is carried out by monitoring the heartbeat of the baby for 30 minutes before the procedure (and constantly monitored throughout) I will be in theatre for the procedure as they will need to prepare me for an emergency c-section if necessary (although the risk of this happening are quite low, but baby Ward could become distressed and therefore will need whipping out quickly). They will then inject my uterus in order to relax it a little and very slowly try to turn our baby so her head will be down and not poking me in the ribs! It should only take around 10 minutes to complete the procedure but with anything there are risks which is why Lee and I are unsure to go through with this... Especially when the consultant mentioned the baby could be hurt and could bleed, become distressed etc. and as this is taking place over 37 weeks and it is my first baby there is only a small chance that this will actually work, you never know, she could turn on her own but due to her size it is unlikely....
So the only other option we have is to have a c-section which would take place in under 2 weeks!
Whilst we make our minds up (and we have the weekend) we have booked an appointment to have the turning procedure done on Tuesday - so another update next week on our final decision...

Baby Ward is Breech!

So I had my 37 week check up with the midwife today and found out that baby ward is STILL in breech position regardless of all the excercises I have been doing and there is little doubt that she will move round on her own before she is due to come out.... Something to do with the size of her! So I had to go up to the hospital straight away to have a scan to confirm her position & size this afternoon....
It was very reassuring to see her via a scan again today, the last time we saw her was over 15 weeks ago and let me tell you, she has certainly grown since then! The sonographer confirmed that she was breech and a very healthy sized baby growing well, her current approximate weight is at 7lbs 5ozs and growing by the day!!!
Lee and I have an appointment with our consultant obstetrician on Thursday to discuss the 2 options we have, either they will try to turn her (good luck cause there ain't much room in my belly) or we will discuss having a c-section to get her out (gulp).... Will update on Thursday - wish us luck!

Holly's 7th Birthday

I can't believe our lovely Holly Bond is now 7 years old (going on 17 counting the attitude!) Having been spoilt rotten we finished the day off with some delicious chocolate cake my clever sister made (mmmmm double helpings for the fat pregnant one!)
Happy Birthday Holly :)

Sunflowers keep on growing... Just like my belly!

Lee's sunflowers have seriously grown since the last update, I can't believe that some of them are taller than the both of us. Obviously his daily chats and constant nurturing seems to be paying off.... Winning sunflower alert!

Even Holly & Grace's sunflowers they planted with Uncle Lee have grown taller than the girls (including me!)

Maternity Leave

Well having waited weeks for maternity leave to start, I am 4 days into time off and bored!! The nursery has been finished, draws organised, clothes put in size order, house cleaned from top to bottom, all of Lee's shirts ironed and dinner cooked from scratch each day.... What else can I do to fill this waiting game???? I almost wish I were back at work, well almost - I am enjoying my afternoon nap and watching what I want on TV, perhaps I could get used to this??? Only 4 weeks to go until (fingers crossed) our daughter comes into the world...

34+ Week Belly...

Midwife confirmed the baby is still in breech position hence why I am being kicked and punched a lot more as the baby is trying to move down in the the final position before coming out.... I feel every little movement now especially when she is pushing on my bladder or up in my ribs! It's amazing that she still has 5 and a bit weeks to grow, as will my belly (hmmmmm) I still have an innie but that may change very soon :)

Antinatal Classes begin!

Lee and I have our antinatal workshop on Saturday morning at Queen Mary's to learn all about understanding the birth process, role of birth partner, pain relief (all I know is that I want it!), intervention, life after birth and breastfeeding sessions from 9am to 2pm! Lee is over the moon about it (not)... I hope they don't show to much in detail, I scared myself half to death last weekend by watching the baby channel and learning all about different births.... Bursting into tears on Lee's shoulder after each birth - eeek! I know she has to come out but one woman describing the ring of fire really freaked me out (when the baby's head is half in and half out)..... HELP!
